[Documentary] Hors Serie: Lolitas

In my weekly search for old blogs, I found this documentary in EGL. It was shot in about 2010 by a Quebec TV channel. The video has subtitles in English only.

[Lolita Singers] Arisaka Emi ❤

I'm always curious to discover new bands, as well as new books, everything lolita. That's how I came across Emi Arisaka yesterday.

According to a quick search on Google, Emi has been active for at least a decade. How could I not have heard of her before?

Emi is an indie pop-rock singer, who uses outfits inspired in lolita fashion. The little I heard from her songs was really good; it reminds me of the anime openings. There is not much about her on the internet, only a twitter, an instagram, a blog in Japanese, some stores ... Not even an entry in Wikipedia. But her music is good, a mix of pop with something more energetic sometimes.

An act of kindness

Arisaka made headlines last week for her kindness. According to the stories, since the beginning of her career there was a loyal fan who went on almost every show. The 55-year-old man whose nickname was Okkyan suddenly stopped attending the singer's concerts last year. Thinking it was very strange, Arisaka then begins a search in the fan's social networks, until discovering where he lived and going to pay him a visit. But when she arrives, she discovers by his neighbors that Okkyan died in August, victim of a serious artery problem. She also discovers that Okkyan did not even had a funeral, since there were no close relatives. So she decides to honor him with a memorial show.

In a post in her twitter accont, Arisaka leaves a message for her fan: "Okkyan, listen to us from the sky above".

Organizado pela Bows Magazine, revista dedicada às lolitas de fala espanhola, será realizado em Outubro o evento Monster Fantasy, na cidade de Santiago do Chile. Pela proximidade do Halloween, a temática do meeting será "Monster Fantasy"!

Organized by Bows Magazine, a magazine dedicated to Spanish-speaking lolitas, the Monster Fantasy event will be held in October in the city of Santiago de Chile. Due to the proximity to Halloween, the theme of the meeting will be "Monster Fantasy"!

Além do local ser ma-ra-vi-lho-so - nada menos que o Palácio Círculo Espanhol - , terão convidadas de peso! Nada menos que Minori, artista conhecidíssima de Shironuri e a presença de um stand da Angelic Pretty Paris! Também haverá um desfile da Angelic Pretty no meeting!

In addition to being in a wonderful place - nothing less than the Spanish Circle Palace - they will have awesome guests! Nothing less than Minori,the famous Shironuri Artist and the presence of a stand of Angelic Pretty Paris! There will also have an Angelic Pretty fashion show at the meeting!

Além dessas convidadas, haverão outras atrações, como stands e uma obra de Annabelle di Vilches para poder tirar fotos nesse cenário lindo!

Besides these guests, there will be other attractions, such as stands and a work by Annabelle di Vilches to take photos in this beautiful scenery!

Vai ser um evento memorável! Tanto que até já aproveitamos para garantir nossos ingressos!

Achei bem legal que a organização é super organizada e atenciosa com os participantes internacionais, tanto que até criaram um grupo para ajudar as lolitas estrangeiras que vão ao meeting, com informações sobre pontos de interesse, lugares para comer em Santiago para quem tem alguma restrição alimentar (vegetariano/vegano/ ou que não consome glúten), entre outras coisas.

I found it very cool that the organization is super organized and attentive with the international participants; they even created a group to help the foreign lolitas who will attend the meeting, with information on points of interest, places to eat in Santiago for those who have some food restriction (vegetarian / vegan / gluten-free), among other things.

10º Bazar J-Fashion - 04/03/2018

Se há uma palavra que posso usar para descrever essa edição do Bazar, sem dúvida é "imperdível". Muita coisa boa para J-fashion, seja para Lolita, para Otome... Tinha até coisas para dolls! Muita coisa a preços incrivelmente acessíveis!

Meu outfit do dia foi algo mais simples e confortável (cof cof e preguiçoso cof cof). A maioria dele estava offbrand ou selfmade. Esse vestido já está virando uma marca registrada minha, porque vira e mexe uso ele em casa ou pra sair na rua.

Nem a chuva forte pela tarde foi impedimento para que as pessoas pudessem vir prestigiar o evento. Havia muita coisa em araras, por cima das mesas ou mesmo em cima de panos no chão. Eu mesma comprei bastante coisa até nessa edição do Bazar!

As bibles eu tive a sorte de conseguir reservar alguns dias antes. Lógico que agora ainda estou longe de terminar minha coleção (só estou com 22 agora), mas fiquei muito contente de consegui-las! Me senti muito naqueles rolês que eu dava anualmente pra São Paulo quando era mais nova e voltava tal qual uma criança quando ganha um brinquedo novo, carregando uma edição das bibles recém comprada na Livraria Sol. Sem falar nas outras compras que foram maravilhosas! Essas meias da AP são divinas, com todos esses detalhes dourados, sem falar nessa pulseira, que foi um achado!

Eu consegui tirar algumas fotos do evento, mas não muitas porque acabei me empolgando demais em ficar olhando as coisas e esqueci de tirar fotos. Mas dizem que os melhores momentos da gente, a gente esquece de tirar fotos mesmo!

Mal posso esperar pela próxima edição do Bazar!

The Cabinets, pop punk band with a lolita vocalist

Do you know those things that you end up digging on the internet that you didn't even know that existed, but it's been so long that you don't even have enough information? So. The Cabinets was a Japanese pop punk band. The initial band was composed only of men, dated 1989. As for what I was reading, the band ended up meeting again in 2007, but this time with a female vocalist - and she is a lolita!

It is not clear what happened to the band. There is information on at least three EP's (extended play) on iTunes that are still on sale today.

The band was formed in 2008 by Ken (vocals and guitar), Mikako (vocals), G (guitar) and Hisashi (drums). Below I put some cool excerpts from the interview they gave to Ambi-Japan, which were translated into English by La Carmina (2008):

"In the 80s, there was a new wave of culture; punk groups had a lot of Lolita fans, but today, they listen to Visual Kei. So we want to bring Lolitas back to Punk. Our Lolita also adds liveliness to our group."

  

"We think Lolita culture is an antithesis to popular culture. In this way, it’s a lot like Punk culture."

Review: Otome Secrets ❤

Semana passada tive a honra de receber o exemplar do livro Otome Secrets, da artista Gloria Copetillo! O livro foi lançado no dia 17 do mês passado.

A compra foi super tranquila, e achei muito legal ter duas opções de livro, com capa mole (mais barato) e com capa dura. Eu preferi a capa dura porque amo os trabalhos da Gloria, e não me arrependi: a capa dura é feita em um material super gostoso, que lembra a sensação de passar a mão em um pêssego de tão macio!

O livro, que tem por volta de 90 páginas, conta com ilustrações e versos, ambos criados pela própria Gloria. Segundo a descrição no site, o livro mostra o mundo secreto do coração das damas.

Eu não postarei fotos do conteúdo por respeito aos direitos autorais, mas eu me senti muito representada em vários versos; em muitas das ilustrações eu fiquei minutos observando a riqueza em detalhes, a delicadeza e os sentimentos que a Gloria consegue colocar em cada ilustração e verso que faz. Sem dúvida, uma ótima aquisição para qualquer lolita, especialmente quem gosta do Lifestyle ❤.
