Just a simple outfit for this day to be happier. I think I will wear this to class tonight, and only after class I will take it off.

[Crafting] Spoon Necklace with upcycled materials

 

Earlier this month, I went to a craft store and found a set of mini cutlery pieces for crafts, and I had to buy it. I remembered that Milkyfawn had a spoon necklace, so inspired in her I tried to make one!

I made the necklace, and customized the spoon; the materials are all leftovers from other things; even the decoden chantilly was a leftover from another project. I am happy now I have an use for it. And the final result was very satisfying! It matches all my chocolate prints.

There are so many great lolita content on Youtube that we sometimes miss something right?

So today I found this video and thought you would like to see it too! It is a pilgrimage to the Kamikaze Girls' location in Shimotsuma in 2011!

Stopping to think now, I never thought many of those places where they filmed were actually real!

If someday I have the opportunity to go to Japan, I want to visit there too!

Novala Takemoto + Hello Kitty "Pour Lolita" letter paper!

 

I was very lucky to find those letter papers in Brazil!

They are a collab between Novala Takemoto (Kamikaze Girls' author) and Hello Kitty, and this collab resulted in keychains, pens, little mirrors and more.

About the letter sets, originally they were 3 types: white edition (sweet lolita); Gothic edition and punk edition (but as I thought it wasn't lolita enough for my taste I didn't bought it). Originally it also came in a "L" folder with 12 paper letters and 6 envelopes, but where I bought there were two sheets and one envelope, and no L folder. Still, they are rare (2006) so it is very lucky to find these 15 years later without being used.

 Having only two sheets of each really do not bothers me, because I am no way writing a letter for anyone in these. They will go to my personal collection with that notebook from Kamikaze Girls, ロリータの一生 .

New lolita zine - Heavenly Creatures vol. 1

 

As always, I am using my blog to save things for when I search for them later.

Have you heard about the new lolita zine, Heavenly Creatures? It is a really awesome project made by Gin Tongles and it was posted on Rufflechat with a link for download, but I thought it would be nice to divulgate here, in case you haven't seen it.

Songs that inspire you for lolita

Continuing the 30 days lolita challenge, today's theme is "10 songs that inspire you for lolita".

I really don't think there are that many songs that inspire me for lolita, since the first thing that comes to my mind is lolita music and I would prefer rock and metal instead of lolita music. But I will try my best.

1. Nana Kitade - Kibou no Kakera

When I was just a baby lolita, my favorite lolita music was Nana Kitade. Her style was always inspiring and eye catching: plaid, pandas, cute frilly blouses, mixed with piercings and loads of fake hair. Nana Kitade was literally a living mix of cute and punk. Her vocals also were so cute!

This song always make me remember I was fascinated with her outfit in this video, and as I tried so bad to make an outfit like this modifying used clothes. I always feel more nostalgic than inspired when I hear this, but I was more joyful and -alive!- in lolita in that time.

2. Kanon Wakeshima - Monochrome Frame

I also like this music a lot, but not because a specific reason. It is one of the musics I like to listen to in my closet when I am working, sewing or dressing up. I like to listen to all the musics of this album tbh.

3. Die Milch - Gothic and Lolita

I had the amazing opportunity to purchase the Sinfonia CD directly from the vocalist Coco, and I love to listen the whole CD in my closet too! I want to purchase more CDS! I can't wait for Japan send things again to Brazil.

4. Rin Oikawa - She Said (Kamikaze Girls OST)

This music was obbligatory soundtrack when I travelled alone in lolita to a meetup. As I always had to take some busses and arrived late in the night at home, sometimes I even took a nap inside the bus, I would listen to this music when I was heading home. It is very nostalgic to me and everytime I listen to it I feel inspired to continue in lolita.

5. Cecil - Super Shomin Car (Kamikaze Girls OST)

While "She said" was for when going back home, "Super Shomin Car" was for when I was going for the meetups. This music is so joyful!

6. MC Melod¥ Doll - Throw it in the Bag

This music is wondeful! I used to sing it everyday all day in my work to remind myself why I was working for. It is very funny every day I feel like I am becoming more and more the brandwhore the lyrics describe. And I also have Sugary Carnival AND Puppet Circus, so I am missing the Church Gate haha.

7. Lil Burando - Frillz

This music is SOOO GOOD! And as always, it seems like she is talking about me in the lyrics! I have Milky Chan, Dreaming Macaron and Pastel a la Mode, I just need Iron Gate and Gingham Rose haha.

The only one I didn't post that make my day in lolita is Al Yankovic's parody of Backstreet Boys, the Ebay song. Everytime I win an auction or can get a rare AP item that no one saw at second hand site, I like to listen to that part he screams "I AM THE HIGHEST BIDDER!!!!!" (Click here for reference lol)
