[Sewing] Old school headdress

Ultimamente ando investindo mais em old school lolita, mas como todo subestilo que começamos a investir, sempre acaba faltando alguma coisa.

Apesar de ter um bow em estilo oldschool muito bonito da MeLikesTea, estive sentindo muita falta de usar um headdress nos coords oldschool. Assim, fiquei muito empolgada quando visitei minha loja de rendas favorita e achei algumas rendas que poderiam servir para costurar um headdress.

Gostei bastante do resultado, e pretendo fazer mais um!

Lately I've been investing more in old school lolita, but like every sub-style that we started investing, something always ends up missing.

Despite having a very cute oldschool bow from MeLikesTea, I missed wearing a headdress with my oldschool coords. So I was very excited when I visited my favorite lace shop and found some lace that could be used to sew a headdress.

I really liked the result, and I intend to do one more!

[Recycling] Bodyline replica cardigan into a new cardigan

Em uma de minhas procuras por peças legais na internet, acabei comprando um cardigan da Bodyline que parecia ser uma peça original deles. Depois da compra feita, fui pesquisar mais sobre o modelo e fui informada que se tratava de uma réplica bem antiga de um cardigan da Innocent World.

Como a compra e o estrago já estavam feitos, decidi modificar o cardigan completamente para ele virar uma peça nova.

In one of my searches for cool pieces on the internet, I ended up buying a cardigan from Bodyline that seemed to be an original piece of them. After the purchase was made, I researched more about the model and was informed that it was a very old replica of an Innocent World cardigan.

As the purchase and the damage were already done, I decided to modify the cardigan completely so that it becomes a new piece.

Replica / Original

Essa réplica se encaixa na denominação de Réplica legal, por ser uma réplica de design, não de estampa, logo ou artwork.
Moralmente é errado (no caso específico do bolero da BL, já que foi feito para parecer MUITO o original), porque é uma cópia de algo que a outra brand fez visando o lucro, mas não há nenhum material com direito autoral envolvido, já que pianos são um design bem genérico - tanto que até há fitas de piano à venda.


This replica fits the denomination of Legal Replica, as it is a replica of design, not of print, logo or artwork.
Morally it is wrong (in this specific case of the bodyline bolero, because it was made to look VERY SIMILAR to the original), because it is a copy of something that the other brand did, aiming for profit using their design, but there is no copyrighted material involved, since pianos are a very generic design - so much so that there are even piano ribbons for sale.

Assim, já que acabei descobrindo que era réplica só depois que já havia pago pelo item, resolvi dar um uso, mesmo porque veio do outro lado do mundo.
Dessa forma, modifiquei o design para virar algo diferente do modelo copiado, e poder usar sem culpa.

So, since I ended up discovering it was a replica only after I had already paid for the item, I decided to give it an use, even because it came from the other side of the world.
That way, I modifyed the design to become something different from the copied model, and be able to use it without guilt.

Eu acabei modificando ele duas vezes.

Na primeira, adicionei mais rendas e coloquei o aplique de piano que comprei da Swimmer e mais alguns enfeites, sem mexer nas teclas que já estavam aplicadas, mas acabou ficando muito parecido com o que estava antes. Fiquei bem frustrada com isso e acabei deixando o projeto parado por um tempo. Só há alguns dias atrás, depois de conseguir mais rendas, voltei a modificar ele, dessa vez tirando tudo, inclusive as teclas. Qual foi a minha surpresa quando descobri que elas eram parte da estrutura do bolero ao invés de mera decoração! No fim tive de aplicar um tecido de algodão entretelado no local para preencher o vazio, e depois disso aplicar a renda por cima.

I ended up modifying it twice.

In the first modification, I added more lace and put the piano patch I bought from Swimmer and some more ornaments, without touching the keys that were already applied, but it ended up being very similar to what was before. I was very frustrated with that and ended up leaving the project for a while. Only a few days ago, after getting more lace, I changed it again, this time removing everything, including the keys. What was my surprise when I found out that they were part of the bolero structure instead of mere decoration! In the end I had to apply an interfaced cotton fabric in the place to fill the hole, and after that apply the lace over it.

Estou bem satisfeita com a modificação! Além de ficar bem diferente da peça original, ele virou um cardigan único e bem fofo. Foi bem irritante modificar ele, mas no final valeu a pena.

E menos uma réplica no mundo ❤

I am quite satisfied with the modification! In addition to being very different from the original piece, it became a unique and very cute cardigan. It was pretty irritating to modify it, but in the end it was worth it.

Trying Daiso's "drive thru"

Desde que a pandemia começou, acabei deixando de fazer algumas atividades que eu gostava, dentre elas a famosa casquinha do Mc Donalds e ir passear na Daiso. Enquanto que a casquinha foi facilmente resolvida, já que o Mc Donalds fornece o serviço de Drive Thru, a questão da Daiso ainda estava sem solução, visto que mesmo antes da pandemia o site deles está em manutenção para sempre.

Since the pandemic started, I stopped doing some activities that I liked, including the famous Mc Donalds ice cream cone and going at Daiso. While the ice cream cone was easily resolved, as Mc Donalds provides the Drive Thru service, the Daiso issue was still unsolved, since even before the pandemic their website is down for maintenance forever.

 Há algumas coisas que gosto de comprar da Daiso, porque além de serem boas são baratas, e uma delas é a cola de cílios postiços. Uma cola similar na farmácia está quase R$ 30, o que eu acho bem absurdo, visto que a da Daiso custa R$ 8, e além de funcionar direitinho, o tubinho é muito fofo (sim, eu amo embalagens enfeitadas).

Esses dias atrás eles lançaram o serviço de "drive-thru", que consiste em fazer o pedido pelo Whatsapp de cada loja, e ir buscar na entrada do shopping, de carro. Fiquei muito feliz que a loja daqui também entrou no esquema, visto que até algumas semanas atrás só as lojas da Daiso em mercados estavam funcionando, e eu estava desesperada por cola de cílios haha.

Usar o "drive-thru" foi muito fácil, sem falar que os atendentes são mega atenciosos.

There are some things I like to buy from Daiso, because besides being good they are cheap, and one of them is the eyelash glue. A similar glue at the pharmacy is almost R$ 30, which I think is quite absurd, since Daiso's costs R$ 8, and besides working properly, the tube is very cute (yes, I love decorated packaging).

These days they launched the "drive-thru" service, which consists of placing the order via each store's Whatsapp, and picking up the order by car at the entrance of the mall. I was very happy that the store here also entered the scheme, since until a few weeks ago only Daiso stores inside supermarkets were working, and I was desperate for eyelash glue haha.

Using the drive-thru was very easy, not to mention that the attendants are very attentive.

Uma dica é fazer uma lista do que você precisa antes de iniciar o chat, para o atendimento ficar mais rápido. Como eu já sabia o que eu queria, e tinha as mesmas coisas da Daiso em casa, foi só mandar uma foto do que eu queria que eles procuravam na loja. Apenas no caso de um espanador rosa, que eu não tinha, o atendente foi bem simpático e tirou foto do que havia na loja.

Finalizado o pedido, você combina o horário da entrega e passa na entrada do shopping para buscar. O pedido deve ser pago com cartão.

Na hora de buscar foi bem sossegado, e o procedimento foi muito higiênico.

A tip is to make a list of what you need before starting the chat, so that the service is faster. As I already knew what I wanted, and had the same things from Daiso at home, it was just sending a photo of what I wanted that they looked for it in the store. Just in the case of a pink duster, which I didn't have, the attendant was very friendly and took a picture of what they had available in the store.

Once the order is completed, you schedule the delivery time and stop at the mall entrance at the right time to pick up your things. The order must be paid by card.

At the time of picking the items, it was very easy, and the procedure was very hygienic.

Fiquei super feliz de poder comprar novamente na Daiso! Estava com saudades dos produtos e estava com medo que eles não abrissem mais canais para compra.

Outfits of the Week #23

[Customization] Straw hat for a strawberry season!

Há alguns anos achei esse chapéu de palha em um site de segunda mão brasileiro, e acabei customizando-o. Porém não ficou tão bom como eu gostaria. Acabei por tirar a decoração e colocar enfeites de acordo com o outfit que estivesse usando com o chapéu.

Semana passada fiquei inspirada por alguns modelos novos de straw hats da Angelic Pretty, e como ontem pude ir à minha loja favorita de aviamentos, acabei por comprar materiais para customização.

Some years ago I found this straw hat on a second-hand Brazilian website, and I customized it. But it was not as good as I would like. I ended up removing the decoration and placing ornaments according to the outfit I was wearing with the hat.

Last days I got inspired by some new models of straw hats by Angelic Pretty, and as yesterday I was able to go to my favorite sewing supplies' store, I ended up buying materials for customization.

Todos os enfeites foram costurados, seja à máquina ou a mão. Os laços são detachables, o que faz com que eu possa mudá-los de lugar livremente.

All the ornaments were sewn, either by machine or by hand. The bows are detachable, which means that I can move them freely.

Fiquei muito contente com o resultado! Vai ficar ótimo para country lolita com as prints que tenho com morangos e vermelho!

I am very happy with the result! It will be great for country lolita with the prints I have with strawberries and in red color!

 A Romantic Frilly Treasure é a mais nova bolsa lançada pela Cotton Candy Feet! Faz algum tempo que recebi três amostras desse modelo novo com uma certa exclusividade para trabalhar com fotos (só a Lor e eu recebemos no lançamento ❤) , mas acabei esquecendo de postar que recebi elas!

Essa bolsa veio para mim em três cores: rosa bebê, vermelho e marrom escuro.

The Romantic Frilly Treasure is the newest bag released by Cotton Candy Feet! Some time ago I received three samples of this new model with a certain exclusivity to work with photos (only Lor and I received at the release ❤) , but I ended up forgetting to post that I received them!

This bag came to me in three colors: baby pink, red and dark brown.

Eu gostei muito desse modelo, porque apesar de compacto, a bolsa é muito espaçosa! Cabe realmente muita coisa dentro, e possui um bolsinho por dentro.

Além do tamanho ser ótimo, ela também é bem versátil: vem com dois tipos de alças, a handbag e a transversal, e ambas podem ser retiradas. O bow também é removível, então a bolsa pode ser usada desde em algo elaborado até em outfits mais casuais.

Outra coisa que me chamou muito a atenção foram as fivelas de coração, que dão um ar meio oldschool, lembrando os icônicos Heart Buckles da Baby!

I really liked this model, because despite being compact, the bag has a lot of inner space! It really fits a lot, and it also has a pocket inside.

Sobre coordenações: como trabalhei pessoalmente nas combinações de outfits, posso dizer que as cores são bem versáteis, e pelo menos com a AP, que foi a marca que mais usei para coordenações, as cores combinam muito bem!

About coordinations: as I personally worked on the combinations of outfits, I can say that the colors are very versatile, and at least with AP, which was the brand I used the most for coordinations, the colors match very well!

Eu realmente gostei muito desse modelo de bolsa! Com certeza vai ser um dos que mais vou usar nos meus outfits!
