[Sewing] Small alterations in BtSSB's Tartan Check Princess JSK

I've got this dress the other day (still need to post about it), and it came without the lace's ribbon, without a bow on the chest and with loose elastics. It wasn't cheap, but BtSSB tartan dresses aren't cheap either, so I can say I got it in a reasonable price considering everything. And also, my little old me, a lolita newbie in 2009, would literally dream of owning one of these, so I must make her proud. And imagine owning it and wearing it with actual Rocking Horse Shoes? I feel her inside me and she's screaming in awe.

First thing I did was change the ribbons, because that was easier and I'm so busy and overscheduled lately, that I did it someday after my work shift. Today I decided to make the most of my day off and make this cutie wearable again, so it was time for the elastics. It wasn't that difficult though - AP dresses are a lot more difficult to do this, so in a few hours I could get the work done.
And this is the result, I'm quite satisfied with it. I'm going to try to get some matching fabric to make the chest bow (that's quite impossible though, but we can dream, can we?). I'm not going to use the waist ties for it - although I think most of the times waist ties are annoying, in this specific case they look essential where they are.

  1. Maybe a solid red chest bow can also work in this case? I hope you find the fabric you want! You restored this dress to perfection, honestly <3

  2. It's a beautiful piece! I love the restoretion! I think it will be hard to find a match fabric, but something on red or white may do
